Kayleigh's Sweet Boutique Themed Birthday

Wow, the last two months have been extremely hectic for me! Working, planning my daughter's birthday and still attempting to manage my day to day responsibilities has kept me busy! Thankfully, these days things have slowed down slightly. I wanted to take the time to share the details on my daughter's 7th Birthday. When I first began conceptualizing ideas for her party, she informed me that she wanted rainbow/bright colors incorporated with lots of candy and sweets. Her father and I came up with the idea to have her a "Sweet Boutique" birthday.

I'm quite a frugal person and I try not to spend excessive amounts of money, therefore I knew I wanted to create a beautiful party on a reasonable budget. By me designing, creating and assembling her themed pintable's I was able to save abundantly! I purchased the candy clipart from MareeTruelove's Etsy Shop. My wonderful best friend, Melanie Terrill created a beautiful Rainbow Ruffled Sprinkle Cake and Rainbow Swirled Cupcakes. Not only were her creations absolutely stunning, they were oh so delicious as well!

In addition to the cake and cupcakes we also had a sweet spread of scrumptious candies and other sweets. Including Caramel Sprinkled "Candy Apples" and a Funfetti Cake Cheese Ball. Lunch options were also provided for the guests.

My daughter wanted us to give away gumball machines as favors, so that's exactly what we did. I found these at the Dollar Tree for only a dollar each! Additionally, I was able to find Dubble Bubble Gum Balls there as well.

As far as the drinks go, we purchased colorful juices and then I re-purposed my Starbucks Frappuccino glasses. I sanitized and thoroughly washed the glasses and soaked them in hot soapy water for about 30 minutes. I was able to easily peel off the labels at this point.

Initially, I used the no-scratch scouring sponge and scrubbed away the leftover label adhesive. However, I recommend purchasing Goo Gone Spray Gel. I found this at my local Wal Mart for around $3.74. Trust me, it is worth every penny. This was used to remove the label adhesive off of a few remaining bottles and it worked like a charm! I purchased the beautiful striped straws from MoreSprinkledJoy on Etsy.

 Look at our happy "customers!"

Overall, I think the party turned out quite well, the children loved all of the delicious goodies and the birthday girl was ecstatic. Here's a look at the invitation and "admission ticket" that was sent to the guests.

My Journey of Building My Dream

Hello! I would like to start off by introducing myself. I'm Heather, a graphic designer and the face behind Glam Design Studio. I have actually wanted to begin blogging for quite a while. However, I have never had the time to get started. Honestly, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to dedicate what was necessary to maintain an actual blog. Regardless of what I thought, I am here now, so let's dive right in!

I figure that it is only appropriate to give you a little background on myself as well as Glam Design Studio. I have a degree in Information Technology with a focus in Multimedia & Visual Communications. I fell in love with design as a pre-teen and have loved it ever since. I started off teaching myself basic HTML and coding concepts then slowly progressed to Graphic Design. I was never one of those individuals who had no idea what they wanted to be when they grew up. I was (and still am) so passionate about design that I was certain my career had to involve it.

After obtaining my degree, I took a much needed break. I was burnt out from working full-time, raising a small child, being a wife and going to school full-time. While the break was wonderful, it really made me realize how much I missed designing. Therefore, I started working on a few side projects here and there. However, I wanted more, after all designing is my passion! Fast forward to the "birth" of Glam Design Studio and where I am now spending time building my dream.

I offer a variety of custom design services both personal and professional. Whether you're looking for a business card or a custom birthday invitation, I can fix you up! Currently, in my Etsy shop I'm selling custom invitations and party printables. However, I'm hoping to expand my products in the near future. On this blog, I plan to share my experience as a graphic designer. Current projects, tutorials, giveaways, freebies and much more will be featured eventually, so please stay tuned!
